The King's Kids
Early Child Development Center
is the dream child of Dr. Paula C.
Childs. Born and raised in Kingston, New York, she is a Nationally
Board Certified Teacher in Early Childhood Education. In addition,
Paula holds a Masters of Science degree in reading, School
Administrator / Supervisor certification and permanent School
District Administrator certification. Paula reached the pinnacle of
education when she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Seton Hall
University with a doctorate in Education.
Dr. Paula is on sabbatical from the Kingston City School District
where she served as the Director of Elementary Education for five
years and most recently as the Director of Instructional Support.
She is using her expertise to design a "royal education" for all the
3-5 year old children that attend the King's Kids Early Child
Development Center.
Our Program
The King's Kids Early Child Development Center is sponsored by the
Ulster County Multi-Service Center and licensed under the regulation
of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (NYS
OCFS). Copies of the child care regulations are available from the
Administrator.
As a matter of policy, the King's Kids Early Child
Development Center operates its Center to meet or exceed all state
and local regulations.
Mission Statement
We are a family-oriented child care center dedicated to quality care
for children ages 3-to-5 years old in our community. Our primary
goal is to provide a safe, loving environment for each child so that
he/she may flourish emotionally, physically, and reach their highest
academic ability.

We must lay the underpinning of a successful school experience
before the child reaches Kindergarten.

Our
Curriculum
Our Center utilizes Creative Curriculum for PreSchoolers®. This
research-based curriculum is endorsed by the National Association
for the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC) and aligned with the
New York State standards (alignment guide available upon request).
As part of this program, our Center includes opportunities for
discovery
and participation in eleven interest areas.
Our
Programs
We offer year-round
preschool for children ages 3-5 years old. Children may attend a
half-day or full-day program. Extended day care from 7:30-8:30 am
and 3:30-5:30 pm is also available at additional cost. (See Fee
Schedule.)
FREE Universal PRE-K is available for children that are residence of
the Kingston City School District and 4 years old by December 1st.
Parents have the option of enrolling their child in the 1/2-day
program in the morning (8:30-11:30) or afternoon (12:30-3:30). We
also offer full-day (8:30 am - 3:30 pm) and extended day programs
from (7:30 am - 5:30 pm). Click here for a copy of the fee schedule.

KKECDC
Summer Camp
We are running the 6-week
KKECDC Summer Camp Mondays - Thursdays from July 6-August 13. There
are two sessions: from 8:30 am – 11:30 am or 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm. The
cost for the half-day program is $90/week. The day will consist of a
combination of preschool activities, outdoor activities, arts &
crafts, trips, etc. Full-day and early drop-off options are available at additional
cost, but parents must provide lunch and snack. Ages 3-5 years
old.
Unfortunately, no scholarships are available at this time. Financial
support MAY be provided by the Department of Social Services (DSS).
Parents are encouraged to contact DSS directly.

Our
Registration Process
We have a rolling registration process. To register your 3-5 year
old child in our program, please download and complete the following
forms. Please contact the Department of Social Services directly to
see if you qualify for child care support. To determine the cost,
refer to the
Fee Schedule.

Our
Location
The King's Kids Early Child Development Center (KKECDC) is located
at the Pointe of Praise Family Life Center - 243 Hurley Avenue,
Kingston, NY, This brand new state of the art facility is licensed
for up to 36 children. It is equipped with surveillance cameras,
alarm system, computers and a beautiful spacious classroom
environment. A large fenced in area serves as our outdoor classroom.
The entrance is located on the side of the church nearest the
Trailways Bus Garage.
